How to define the protection grade of cabinet air conditioner？

Cabinet air conditioner manufacturer usually lists the protection grade in the parameter column. How is this protection grade defined?

IP protection grade is a worldwide recognized protection grade evaluation standard, mainly based on < IEC 60529: 2013 Degrees of protection provided by enclosure (IP code)>.

The left-hand number is the first characteristic number, the range of which is 0 to 6, representing:

• Protection of human body when approaching dangerous parts;

• Protective structure for external solid objects.

The second character number represents the waterproof grade, ranging from 0 to 9.

Taking LANDKING''s cabinet air conditioner as an example, the protection grade of outdoor AC cabinet air conditioner and outdoor DC cabinet air conditioner is IP55, and the protection grade of indoor control panel air conditioner is IP54. What does this mean?

IP 5X: Dust prevention

The metal wire with a diameter of 1mm shall not intrude into the equipment shell, which cannot completely prevent the dust from entering the equipment, but the dust will not harm the normal operation and safety inside the equipment.

IP X4：Water splashing prevention

Splashing from any direction of the equipment will not have any negative effects on the equipment.
